Hi, Charles ~~~ I will go with your expertise and think about painting the ceiling a dark color. Should I darken the existing paint color? If so, by how much? Thanks so much for your response!
The 2nd living room really stands out to me since being a home stager this is an attractive room and very appealing due to the contrast of paint colors. You also added interest with the plush white rug, zebra print fabric and brought a touch of color in through the pillows - job well done! I love all the artifacts and furnishings in the other living/dining room space as well. I would love to see some color like the red from the pillows brought in somehow in a larger rug or painting one

wall in the room a different color like the wall behind the couch maybe to again create some contrast in this room as well. But you have outdone yourself!
Bonnie, that color coordination is above my pay grade compared to the other resources that chime in here. Perhaps another can fine tune a color recommendation from here.
Bonnie well done, you've inspired me to take the plunge w/the dark walls, I was leaning towards a charcoal grey, but every time I told someone I'd get the deer in the headlights look. Renovating raw space we call The Cave! Will post photos upon completion.
Virtually Staging: Thank-you for being so complimentary! I find your idea of bringing in more color very interesting. One cannot see the outdoor landscape that does, in fact, bring more color in to the space. There is a "red" Chinese arbor with a bronze crane and color with other seasonal plantings. The dining room chair fabric didn't photograph too well for there is more color there also. I feel that its pretty well balanced BUT I adore new ideas and creative commentary !!
DEAREST CHARLES ~~~ Pleeezze! I am just not "believin' it" --- If you paint as well as you write, you most certainly can assist me with paint color choices! So, Charles, get your color creative juices flowing and put out there what you really feel.
Faidra: You Go Girl..! The "black" paint color I used was Ralph Lauren's Campfire Ash. It's a dark, dark charcoal appearing to be a soft black to one's eye. The white paint is Kelly Moore's Swiss Coffee (a teriffic white to use for trim, crown, etc.) Take that "plunge" and remember to balance other paint colors, fabrics and flooring for an aethestically pleasing outcome. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your photos.
Bonnie, I love the dramatic flair. Black and White is always a great choice for elegance, but you really gave it a creative twist by going with the black walls and white accents.... I love it. Your rooms show elegance, class, and a clean sense of style, yet shows bold unexpected flair that not everyone knows how to pull off ..... great job!
Wonderful pictures of your lovely home! You can tell at once that you love to travel - what fun to bring those memories back to your decor. Well done in what can be a challenging space.
Melissa & Betty ~~ Thank-you so much for your compliments ~ ! I do so appreciate them. And, if you're "Moms" ~~ Happy Mother's Day. As I like to say: Sit ! / Stay !.....relax and enjoy...... :-) (love throwing dog commands in to the mix ~ ! =^..^= )
Best, Charles
Cheers, Bonnie
