German-Inspired First Day of School Treat - Schultute #BackToSchool

by Paula Biggs
Kids in Germany going to their very first day of school are given giant paper cones filled with school supplies and other treats to make their first day a little bit sweeter. Inspired by this lovely tradition, I made a few in miniature size, but still big enough to carry fun pens, crazy erasers and a few other off the wall school supplies that the kids will love.
This is a craft lightning project, so it goes together in 10 minutes or less.
All you need is some 12x12 scrapbook paper, some tissue paper and a piece of ribbon. And, of course, whatever you want to put into your schultute.
Roll the paper into a cone, hot glue to seal, and then clip off the point of the cone. Glue tissue paper to the inside of the cone.
Stuff your schultute full of fun stuff, then gather the top and tie off with a ribbon.
Your kids will love it as a back to school treat! See detailed instructions on how to make these cones at the Frog Prince Paperie site.
