I couldn't get the pic to load but they are 80's gold. I'd like to paint them oil rubbed bronze.

I purchased a bathroom vanity fixture for $5 at a garage sale.. It was a nice fixture besides the "not so perfect condition" brass.. I went to my local Habitat for Humanity restore and found a can of Rustoleum textured spray in bronze for only $1 (basically a full can!).. I just cleaned the fixture (dirt/dust) where I wanted to spray.. and sprayed it directly on. No sanding or prep needed. Rustoleum is a really awesome fix for just about anything. Good luck!

How well is it holding up to cleaning and general use? I thought you had to sand them first.

@Lilli H So far so good! It's only been a few weeks.. Most Rustoleum spray paint has a primer in it already.. It will say "paint and prime".. I got the oil rubbed bronze with primer in it.. It's super easy to spray!

I just painted all my fixtures as well. I hand painted them with Ralph Lauren metallic paint and then sealed with clear rustoleum spray. You can also seal with poly acrylic, polyurethane or wax sealer. If they are shiny and you're using an oil based paint then you most likely don't have to sand but I would use a flat paint or a primer before painting. The flat clear spray paint helps the paint adhere better or use a primer. Post pictures when you're done!

Thanks. They look nice. I'm actually referring to the bath and shower fixtures...spigot, knob, shower head. Anyone paint those?

I saw an article a couple of weeks ago by a woman who had painted her faucets. She actually did them while they were installed. She was quite happy with the results. I can't find the article unfortunately. Maybe if you use the search you can find it. Good luck.
