I would like to learn more about this lamp please

My friend recently gave me this hanging lamp. It has a chain to plug it into the wall and a pull cord to turn it on and off. I've been trying to images search this for days now. I saw one at a flea market in western NY, but it was aqua in color. If anyone has any info on this, please help.

I would say it's from the 60s-70s other than that I don't know.

Hottest thing going in the late 60's - early 70's. We had a couple of them and I always liked that rather than give off a strong light, they were more of a mood thing....enjoy!

I would have guessed late sixties, early seventies too, but for the standard socket. I don't remember seeing any swag quite like it from that era. The swags from that era had a mesh type tube with an elongated bulb inside. I'm sorry, I don't know what they called that part. I did find some in a cage without the wrought iron as yours does, from as far back as the 1940's. You might take it to a local lighting store and see if anyone there knows anything about it. They may know of some way to date it.

With the blown glass into the wire frame I imagine it was made in Mexico most likely 60s to 70s era (but may have been rewired to get rid of the mesh and specialty build others have mentioned). I have a 4 bulb chandelier with individual wrought iron blown glass shades that I picked up at a thrift store that most likely came out of one of the local Mexican restaurants (that fits perfectly into my Casa Bonita inspired dining room. Even found a couple of rep cement shades at another thrift store a couple of years later. Mine has the same yellow glass but the trouble I was having was since it was handmade getting a consistent shade of yellow when turned on. The solution was buying yellow light bulbs!
