I am looking into the "light tube" sunlights. Anyone have any experience with these? Which is best, etc.

I've installed the Velux brand. Aside from the complexities of cutting a hole in your roof and installing all of the basic "flashing" parts. Working with the reflective "liner" is a bit of a challenge too. -
We've used solar tubes with good results....the prismatic mirrors inside really help to brighten dark kitchens and hallways....good product....just make sure you seal at the roof with a clear elastromeric roof sealant! -
Be sure you see the product in an actual setting ..at least one or more.. I decided against them because to me they didnt look any different than a flourescent light. I would rather have daylight and sky I can see, than something that looked like another flourescent light. I also love looking at my skylight at night, I can see stars, moon etc! -
Sandy, I have one (Velux) in an interior guest hall bath with no windows. During the day I rarely turn on the light. The 1st 2 weeks after the install, every time I walk by, I was trying to turn off the light. I love it. and the spill over light frm the bath into the hall is great. -
Like bernice mentioned...these do look a lot like "lights" because of the frosted glass type lens at the end of the tube...its a lot different that a window type skyligt. -
I had my camera out today so I thought I would post a few pictures of my guest bath. No flash and NO windows. The only light is from the solar tube. These were taken in the morning sun, in the afternoon, its even brighter. I included an outside shot too.-
