Patch water damaged brick wall

Is it possible to patch water damaged brick wall rather than replace it?

  • Need a lot more information or pics - was this damaged by running water, standing water, or... Is it just brick or wood behind it... Without pics, etc... all I can state is one should call in a professional mason to see what exactly the damage is & what it will take to repair it properly

    This was caused by rain water and likely due to poor angle on the flashing, I believe. Looking into getting a gutter or other method of diverting water. In the mean time the brick needs to be repaired. Thank you for your help!
  • That is called spalling & yes you can patch it with new bricks - a good mason can remove the old & weave in new (not something I would recommend for DIY - shoot I wouldn't even attempt it). In order to take care of the bottom ones the ivy must go & after it is repaired it should stay away from the brick. For the corner, yes that looks like a flashing issue which can probably be solved by a diverter. Also make sure that the ground around the exterior is sloped away from the building
