Two Tiered End Table

I love 2 tiered tables! I have an heirloom from my Grandmother that will go untouched, but when I was given a "not as good condition" one I had to have some fun with it! :)
The wood veneer was chipping off from me using it as an outdoor plant stand this past year.
I cleaned it up with gentle soap & water, peeled the chipping veneer off & sprayed it with a light layer of white spray paint.
Folk Arts Home Decor Chalk Paint caught my eye a few months ago. I knew this table was the perfect project for these paints.
I loved how it looked so far & asked on my Instagram & Facebook accounts if I should paint the legs. I had mixed opinions & went with painting them in the light gray to blend with the top of the table.
Late that night I had a light bulb moment when I finally decided what to do with the longer lower table. I had some extra old maps hanging around & I decided to cut up them up in a petal shape & create a dahlia flower shape to cover most of this tier.
I used Mod Podge to glue down the petals
I love that it morphed into an off center flower. This was so much fun to do!
I'm extremely happy with the end result of this table that was falling apart! Glad I could revamp it with chalk paint & old maps. Hope you like it too!

Love it. I have my daughter's childhood table and chairs. They are in bad shape from being outside in the playhouse. I wanna do this for her son. How do the leaves/petals feel under the modge podge. Is it a surface that a toddler can't peel up? Love the maps usage. His room is woodland animals. It is definitely a yes for me.

@Jacinda Stevick As long as you make sure all edges are down there should be no issue or worry about pealing up. Brush on one more layer of mod podge when the first layer dries. It then will be definitely sealed & protected. I'd love to see your pics when it's done :)
