Simply Serene Storage Unit

Country Chic Paint
by Country Chic Paint
Cait from Little City Farmhouse is back on our blog today to share this beautifully simple storage unit makeover in Vanilla Frosting! Come find out how she did it.
Hi there! I’m Cait from Little City Farmhouse and I am back to share with you how I refinished this darling cabinet!

The previous finish on this cabinet was interesting! It had a crackle finish in some areas, and a washed finish in others - and layers upon layers of different colours of paint. Instead of taking any chances and because I wasn’t sure what was previously used to create the finish, I sanded it right down. I wasn’t concerned about adhesion, since Country Chic paint has a fantastic bond, but I wanted the finish to be super smooth. I took my time and made sure the previous finish was entirely gone.
I then painted it in two coats of Vanilla Frosting. I can honestly say, without a doubt, that Vanilla Frosting is by far my favourite creamy white! It is the perfect tone!
I then sanded it with 220 grit sandpaper to give it an ultra-smooth finish, and then waxed it with clear wax.
I think it turned out beautifully! If you are trying to find the perfect shade of creamy white, Vanilla Frosting is it!
