I need to replace several of these small wooden pieces for a drop leaf table. Does anyone know the technical term?

I thought they were slides are first, but with seeing how they fit on the table, I'm not sure how to do a search.

table Runners would be my thinking.

Yeah without being able to see more of the table and how that particular piece fits (and where) it's almost impossible to identify exactly what it is with the picture you provided. Sorry!

Drop leaf tables can have support arms that slide out underneath the leaf, or they rotate ninety degrees to hold up the leaf. Without a photo of the underside of the table, before these pieces were removed, I'm at a loss for knowing how to help you.

My husband is a carpenter and says the small piece is called a "stop" and the long grooved piece a "rail" or "slide".

Perhaps if you take them to a furniture repair shop or an antique furniture shop they can tell you exactly what you need & proceed to get it repaired.

@Jan Loehr Thanks Jan. I live in a small rural town and, unfortunatley, we have nothing like that here. The closest we have t a furniture repair shop would be out local Amish craftsmen. Lightbulb!!!! I will check and see if they could make these for me. Thanks for the suggestion!

They are table slide extensions, and the little wooden piece is a "slide" or a "stop" or a "table slide block." I have searched until my eyes were crossed. I found a web site in Canada called Workshop Supply http://store.workshopsupply.com/catalogue/table-slide-blocks-p-3879.html. It doesn't appear as though any dimensions are given. I've also searched Lowes and Home Depot and came up empty. Do any of you carpenter's out there (or their better halves) have any suggestions?

Thanks dexter, I did visit each of the sites you listed, but was unable to find just the slide blocks. I don't need the complete slide. Thanks again for the links!

Do you just need that little block of wood shown in the middle above? Any woodworker should be able to make that for you. Doesn't look like much to it unless there is more than is visible. Try the shop class at your local high school if you don't know anyone who has woodworking tools.

@Patti Yes, the little block was all I needed. One of our local Amish craftsmen is going to make me a set of 8 of these. I can't wait for him to finish!

Perfect. Woodworkers usually are willing to help! Glad you found someone.

The part you need is a stop, keeps the slide from pulling all the way off and falling on your foot. Mark the part or measure were it should be and remove and cut a new block/stop and install, its integral to the part and simple to make the glue drys out or the nails come loose.
