Curbside Find Becomes the Perfect Organizer

Hi there Hometalkers! I recently had a little fun with a few of my favorite bloggers in the We were challenged to create something using a jig saw. Not too hard, right? But there was also a theme to this challenge: Back-to-School. That was a bit harder. I dug through my stash and came out with these two items:
A $5 thrift store frame and a drawer I found on the curb. (No shame here.) And here is how I married the two:
Pretty, right? Considering how it started. For the Back-to-school portion of this challenge, this will soon be the perfect landing spot for my boys' backpacks!
For the jig saw portion of this challenge, I cut beadboard for the backing. I love the charm it adds. After everything was painted and ready to go, the bead board was secured into the frame using a point driver. The drawer front was secured to the bead board with screws from the backside.
The hooks from Hobby Lobby were added last after a coat of spray paint and a little sanding.
This is in my bedroom at the moment since the lighting is so nice up there, but it will be going in the laundry room.
I'm loving this solution for keeping school bags out of my kitchen.
Hope you enjoyed this little thrifty makeover! For more photos and details, visit this post on my blog at the link below!

Once you said "Laundry Room". I was even more inclined to do this. Thanks for sharing!
