Electrical & Lighting

Previous occupants moved out leaving 4 speakers installed.

There is a cable type wire with 5 prongs that was left as well. I would like to be able to use the surround, but I do not know where to start. What do I need to buy to complete the system and get it working? Thank you!

    Marcia,

Typically each speaker needs a low voltage supply and ground. Often the grounds are all connected together into one. So, you have 5 prongs, to me, I would think you have 4 supplies and one common ground. Is one prong look different or in the center of the configuration?

The way to test this is to simply attach the speaker leads from some sort of radio or ...»

amplifier individually to find which prong controls which speaker. Usually, this is all low voltage stuff. If you don't understand, maybe you should get some help. First and foremost, be careful!

    I hope this has helped.
