Bookcase help!

I recently purchased a plain white bookcase which is extremely practical but boring- how do I liven it up?

Paint the back wall of it....maybe a bright coral or turquoise, or whatever strikes your fancy. You can also use wallpaper. Or scrapbook paper.

If most of the inside will be covered by items on display, such as books, put your ideas to designing the outside possibly using stencils if you are not too artistic.

Where did you place the bookcase. If there is a color in the room that you like try using a lighter shade of that to pop the piece. If your walls are darker do the reverse. Pinterest is an inspiration if you dont like that idea.

Just remembered I had some drawings I did for an article that would work to show you a possibility too. The trim around the middle would hide the seam you often find on flat packed furniture these days.
