Wooden Plant Stand

Country Chic Paint
by Country Chic Paint
Come find out how Robin from Redo It Yourself Inspirations added some summery, country charm to her garden with Bliss and Rustic Charm!
Our grandpa was cleaning out his basement and offered me this old wooden plant stand. He thought I could do something with it.

I knew I wanted to paint it. But with a distressed look for some country charm. So I cleaned it up and lightly sanded it.
Choosing pretty summer colors, I painted the base coat in "Rustic Charm". A really cheery shade of green.
Then dry brushed the bucket part of the planter with "Bliss"... to let the green show through.
When the paint was dry I distressed the entire planter sporadically with sandpaper.
Then I designed a transfer to print and rub onto the bucket with the words, "Flowers and Gardens".
After adding some bright geraniums, the planter really pops with some country charm.
Blue and green go so nicely together in the gardens.
I have a watering can that needs a makeover, so I'm doing this same technique again to match the planter. These two colors are really pretty.
