Jonnie Hammon on Aug 18, 2015If they are not glazed, clean them, with lemon infused vinegar, and if you like the gray, cover them with a non-yellowing glaze. If you want to add color, or multiple colors, paint them with a marine deck paint, or stain them, and then add the glaze. Using paint may require a bonding primer, to allow it to adhere properly. If you choose a paint not made for outside, you should add a glaze to make it wear longer.Helpful Reply

Mary Beth Carrier on Aug 19, 2015We have slate and it should be sealed with a good quality sealant. The sealers sold at the box stores will not last- trust me when I say we wasted lots of time & money on them in the past! If you have a local flooring store, start there because they will probably have one that is more durable. If it's for your exterior, you may consider adding a grit to the final coat of sealer to make it slip resistant.Helpful Reply
