Oops!! I have just seen that chalk paint covering everything that I meant my comment to say, "I sure hope you do not cover this beautiful piece with paint"! That is such a beautiful patina on it that it is priceless! Great find! Old mirrors have a sort of magic about them don't you think? I love them...even when they are not clear...sort of sparks the imagination!

I must admit that I made that dreaded mistake when my father's, precious, little, black chair (now red) was handed down to me when I was in my early 20's....I've learned a lot in 40 years, since then, about what not to touch and this little gem is one of them! You were right to advise me, just in case I was unaware like so many people still are...the fad of chalk paint and covering up many, beautiful old pieces these days is a shame!
