Easy
A simple way to bring a dull space to life, no green thumb required!
With minimal attention required, using air plants to creating a terrarium is a great way to add some life to your home. Because they require no soil to live and only need watered every week they are ideal for a busy household or work space.
This faux window in our office was ideal for floating terrariums.
Very few supplies are needed for this project. 1. Your choice of air plants. You can find these at your local greenhouse or order them online. 2. Stronghold fishing line or twine. 3. A tension rod is great for a space that is difficult to nail into - like our brick walls. 4. Glass terrariums or orbs and sand. These can be found at your local craft store or on Amazon.
To hang them, place the tension rod into your window and twist to lock. Once you secure the rod, simply tie the fishing line to the rod and cut to desired length. Fill the orbs with sand or leave empty and place air plants inside. Tie the opposite end of the fishing line to the orb and cut excess line.
Caring for them is just as easy as doing this project. Soak these plants every week in water for 1 hour and let dry completely before returning them to their terrarium. It's as easy as that! Happy DIY-ing.
