Repurposed Map Shelf

A lucky vintage nautical map find at a garage sale led to a whole bunch of fabulous projects!

These are the nautical waterways in our area... I found several old charts at a garage sale that I knew would be perfect for so many projects.

The same garage sale yielded an antique server with a divided drawer that really didn't fit right. I removed the drawer and now it was the perfect piece for this repurposed map shelf.

I cut the maps to fit the inside of the drawers...

Using decoupage solution I adhered the maps to the back of the drawers keeping the pieces of the map together like a puzzle so the final product would show the whole map area.

The finished product came out better than I could have imagined! The color I chose to paint the drawer was perfect to coordinate with the colors in the map.
