Bringing herbs inside

I have several herbs that I'd like to keep over the winter. I live in Southeast Michigan so I'm wondering if I can bring my lavender, rosemary, sage, and basil inside to live over the winter. Has anyone ever done this with success? Sandy Surface

Ive never done this but see no reason not to give it a try. Treat them as you would house plants. Do not over water just keep them moist in a sunny location.

I put my mom's in her garage, which is not heated. I cut them back first, and water very little. On warmer winter days we sometimes leave the door open for a little light.

You may encounter a bug problem. I have no ideas how to handle that on an edible plant. Maybe soapy water and rinse.I got those little fruit fly insects when I tried it. Also I lost my basil from not enough sun. or I think that is why. lol
