Ceiling fan blade sleeves/covers washable -DIY

I live in Australia and can't find decorative or plain sleeves you can place on your ceiling fan blades that help keep them clean (and easy enough to wash and clean in washing machine when needed). Has anyone made these easy enough? Or does anyone have any ideas what I could use for the sleeves? Thank you.

Sonya, I have never heard of these, but did a quick Google search and found these. Is this what you are looking for? http://www.pirrella-fansleeves.com/

Oh, good. I see they are an Aussie invention. That's probably why I'd never heard of them. I wonder if one couldn't just use a pairs of hose to make them? They look as though they are shear like hose are.

Sonya, sounds like what you want is essentially a slip cover (I have been thinking of making some for my fan). Maybe try a stretch fabric if the blades are tapered at the bracket end to help it fit snugly on the blade. Take one blade off and trace around the blade on paper, then add a seam allowance. Make sure to add enough on the bracket end for a casing for either a drawstring or elastic. When you need to take it off all you would have to do is slide it off.
