Hi Hometalk!

We are excited to be a part of this community of helpful home enthusiasts!

Here's our question for you...what are YOUR homes "Money Pit" moments that you would love to change? Is it drafty windows, a leaky basement or perhaps a bathroom that is stuck in the 1950's? Tell us HERE and we'll invite one or two Hometalkers to talk through some solutions in a segment broadcast on The Money Pit Home Improvement Radio Show!

Thanks for the warm welcome. We're glad to be here!

From my perspective as a prior home inspector as you were Tom, I find the money pits are homes that the owner simply does not understand anything about. After doing inspections in some of the larger homes and talking to the buyers that simply fork over cash every time there is an issue. They just do not understand that simple maintenance on a home is all that is needed to avoid paying lots later. ...»

Its funny that they will change their oil in their car when the light goes on. But when the shingles start falling off their house, they wait until water starts hitting them in the head. Had they read their home inspection report it would state that the roof is near its end of life. But would not even think about it until it literately hit them in the head. What they need is little lights that flash every time the house needed work.

Heck I started my other company The Home Care Club LLC just for that very reason. It began great, right up until the wall street gangs started loosing their job. So guess who lost their clients when that happened. So now I get calls from them after the door falls off of the door tracks, or the kids are getting splinters on the deck. And what do they complain about. How much everything is costing them.
