Is it too late to plant fescue sod in Roswell, GA?

The play area at my daughter's preschool is sparse; the bermuda just doesn't get enough sun. I'm hoping to plant some fescue sod on the Friday before Thanksgiving. I don't think the kids will be running over it as much since the cold weather is coming on. Any thoughts?

I think you're OK. I just saw a landscaper truck go by with a couple of pallets on the back.

Be sure to till and rake smooth beforehand, roll, lay sod, then roll again afterward. The last rolling is critical to get the roots close to the soil.

Cathy, I own a landscape company in Marietta. Now is the perfect time to install Fescue sod. Anytime between now and March.

Do they have an irrigation system they can run on the fescue during the summer months?

We can set up a timer with a sprinkler. It's a fairly small area which is why I want to do sod.

Go for it. I love the feeling of walking barefoot on fescue.

You should be fine then. The fescue does require a bit more Maintenance to keep alive in the summer, but if it is a small area, it should be manageable.
