From Old Floor Lamp to New Solar Lights

Easy
We found this antique floor lamp at an estate sale and decided to skip the complication of re-wiring it...and instead created something gorgeous for our backyard!

So, here's the lamp at the estate sale- scary wiring and all! We loved the sage-y green color and didn't want to change it, so I figured that some solar lights would look fantastic in the sockets!
So, we first removed all of the VERY outdated wiring from the lamp. Once all of the wiring had been removed and the lamp dusted/cleaned, we re-assembled everything. The only parts from the original wiring that we kept were the socket sleeves.
Now, back to the path lights. They were the perfect size for the sockets, but I didn't like the brown color. A little painter's tape over the solar cells and then I spray painted them to match the lamp's original color! To see how perfect it all looks together, check out my full tutorial!
Ta-da! And when night falls, it really comes alive. I can't wait to use this at our upcoming party!!
Like a street light in a fairy world...
