Rusty Wire Flowers
I'm making a rusty bed springs wreath and needed some rusty flowers to go with it. Whipped up these little beauties and I'm loving them!! These are about 6" across. I cut a little wood disc from a tree branch for the center button. I can think of a million ways to use these!!!
I just made a rough form using a piece of a board and 1" pvc pipe. I just drilled holes in the board to secure the pvc pipe. Wrapping the wire around the pvc pipe keeps the wire even and the petal ends rounded. This board has 3 different sizes. Put a piece of wire through the center hole on the desired size. This not only holds the wire for you, but leaves an end to twist off and tie it to your project. To make the f,ower petals, just counter wrap the wire crossing over in the center (like an "8") and moving to the next layer. When you feel you have enough layers, take a piece of wire and wrap it around all the layers and twist off to secure. Wrap your beginning wire in this also. Pull off the pvc pipe. Shape your wire flower and add a button in the middle to hide the over lapped center.
I make 3 different sizes with this board. You can see some of the pvc pieces are used for several different flowers. The flowers with a longer and smaller width allow you to make layered flowers with the different petal size. The flower form with 6 petals makes a full flower with each petal the same size.

Would like to make wire flower. The problem is that it appears many people have asked for instructions and can seem to get a response as how to make. It would be a nice courtesy to respond.
