Home Maintenance & Repairs: I need to replace a couple of courses of rotted OSB lap siding(acrylic surface on one side ) 1/2 inch thick by 8 inch

wide on a dormer. I want to use hardy type board that will not rot but nobody makes fiber cement board siding in 1/2 inch thick. It only comes in 5/16 inch. Any Ideas?

Replace it all and put some foamboard behind it...to bring you close to your original ...»
dimensions....don't forget a wicked housewrap behind the siding to allow any condensation to escape to the bottom and out of the wall cavity. Always paint with a top quality paint like Duration...cheaper latex paints won't hold up on hardiplank
