Gardening: My Clematis bloomed and now the vine looks as if some of it is dying.

Should I cut the vine down? It bloomed beautifully, but looks awful now.

Thanks

  • Gelatinous mass left on my friend's deck. Animal or vegetable?

Outdoor Living: Unknown gelatinous mass left on a friend's deck….what could it be?

A friend sent me the following picture and wondered if I knew what it was, but I'm stumped. All I can think of is it might be an egg case of some sort or the previous year's skin shed from some creature. I have also seen some gelatinous fungi, but I really don't have a clue. Anyone have any ideas?

Gardening: Another flower to identify

I have this flower that grows all summer and blooms in the fall. It is really pretty w/sort of a pinkish/orangish flower. No pix of the flower (not Fall yet) but maybe you can tell by the leaves? It grows in full sun, in a large clump.
