  • Can you really kill these with above recipe 1

Gardening: Does this work

Can you really kill weeds with this recipe:

Dandelion Season ==>> NON-toxic Weed Killer Recipe ==>> Good to use in yards with Pets & Children roaming around!

Make sure to share this on your own page for future reference and to help inform and protect others. =^..^=

1/2 gallon of Apple Cider Vinegar

1/4 c table salt ...»

1/2 tsp Dawn liquid dish soap

Mix above ingredients in a spray bottle.

Spray weeds thoroughly.

1/2 gallon for around $6.40

Works better than Round Up - kills weeds on 1st application.

The Dawn dish soap strips the weed of its protective oils so the vinegar can work with deadly force. Safe for use in yards used by children and pets!!

Gardening: Can Sugar and Epsom Salts Help Your Plants Grow?

I've been researching sugar and Epsom Salts and I've come up with some positive explanations on how these two items help plants grow stronger. ...»

According to what I've read sugar doesn't really feed the plant itself. It feeds the micro-organisms that live around the roots of the plant. It's these organisms that break down nutrients making it easier for the plant to absorb them.

Epsom Salts contain hydrated magnesium sulfate which are necessary for plant growth. Magnesium helps strengthen the plant's cell walls which aids in drawing up nutrients from the soil.

Since neither of these items are harmful I'm going to try them in my garden this year - both vegetables and flowers and will report back any outstanding results!

Does anyone know about these two common substances and how they might work on the garden?

Best wishes, Linda

bloom at all. I did not plant these, someone else did. They are in the only place the sun shines for any length of time. Would Epsom salts work on them? Any other ideas? I have no place to transplant due to shaded yard. I am open for ANY suggestions.

  • my pink & black bathroom. ugh, help!

Painting: Can I paint over bathroom tile and have it look good?

My 2 bathrooms are horrendous. One is black & pink the other has issues all its own.

I'd love to paint the pink & black bathroom as a cheaper option while I renovate the other. Is it going to look terrible or can it really be a project worth getting into??

  • Replace bird bath with? 1

Decks & Patios: Deck needs something pretty to replace bird bath

I want to replace the bird bath in the middle of the deck because it is between a waterfall and a koi pond so I don't really use it, nor do the birds. I would like a colorful plant that can take full sun - there is no shade in that area. The planting area is 3' in diameter.

Home Maintenance & Repairs: Should I waterproof a deck that is lower to the ground?

Suppose your deck is a bit lower to the ground. There are still advantages of using a waterproof deck, for example, this home uses their under deck for storage and we love the way they designed it as well!

What's your design advice for someone who has a deck that's lower to the ground?

Hi DF McElwee and Phil ...»
I couldn't agree more. Waterproofing a deck, even one as low to the ground as shown in the picture is beneficial for storing and for keeping the deck's longevity. Thanks for the input!
