Gardening: One Lonely Iris

Last year, I planted a number of iris cuttings from a friend. The only one to bloom has just opened. They are in full sun and I planted them shallow as I've done before successfully. What could be wrong?

Most iris transplants should have 5 leaves on the rhizome in order to bloom. Don't despair if ...»
yours didn't, it just takes a bit longer, a year should be plenty. Iris are very forgiving and do well in not so good soils as well as multiply over time..hang in there!

Pure Vanilla Extract

Does anyone know if it's still good to use pure vanilla extract after it's one year expired. I bought a large bottle which is cheaper than a smaller one. It's still 80% full.

I'm speaking about Pure Vanilla Extract, the good stuff that is quite spendy, unless you make ...»
it yourself, which I do. That? Doesn't go bad. ;) Just keep it in a dark, dry cool place. And here is a Vanilla place in Canada that might be easy for you to contact:

As far as pricing your pieces, there are a few different things to consider: the cost of ...»
materials, the amount of time and skill required, and what the demand and competition is.

If it's cheap or free reclaimed lumber and takes you less than 30 minutes to make, then you can charge less than if it's expensive hardwood and takes you hours. If there are a lot of people selling comparable pieces or not a lot of demand, you might need to drop your prices. I always calculate a bare minimum I need to charge for a piece for me to come out ahead and an amount I think the piece is worth and then list the price somewhere in between and adjust if necessary.
