Gardening

I just found a rusty porcelain tub at a sale for $2.00 so of course, I had to plant it. I used some of my dishes from my stash and planted them with Allysum, Moss Rose, Verbena and ...»
Violets. I put gravel in the bottom of the teapot and teacup for drainage. I also drilled holes in the bottom of the tub.Still debating if I should spray paint the tub with a pastel color.

Reclaimed Pallet Wood Table

Don't pass by a table on the trash just because the top is in bad shape. I saw this table and the leg details are what caught my eye. I grabbed it quickly and then realized that the top ...»
was not salvageable. So I removed it and made it into a farmhouse table by painting the base black and adding pallet wood to the top.

Upcycled Metal and Glass Goodwill Table

I was at the Goodwill as I always am a few times a week and I spotted this metal bottom and glass top table. I thought it would be a challenge because I'm not usually keen on pieces like ...»
this but something about it was calling my name. I paid 20 bucks for it. After it was sitting for quite sometime the idea of chalkboard paint for the surface came to me. I sprayed the top with Krylon black chalkboard paint, which is perfect for writing those little reminders of what to TiVo, what not to miss, or even just a daily reminder of how beautiful life is. As for the bottom half I decided on a green shade in Pistachio from the Krylon line. The bottom was so detailed I decided to spray paint it instead of using a brush. You can see the step by step process and more photos at my blog....http://quirkycool.blogspot.com/2013/04/upcycled-metal-and-glass-table.html

Gardening: Is This a Daylily or Something Else?

Hi, this is a (bulb) flower that grows out back. The stalks are very tall (3-4 feet?) and the blooms are about 5-6 inches across. They're beautiful! Please help me identify them. Thank you!
