  • my pink & black bathroom. ugh, help!

Painting: Can I paint over bathroom tile and have it look good?

My 2 bathrooms are horrendous. One is black & pink the other has issues all its own.

I'd love to paint the pink & black bathroom as a cheaper option while I renovate the other. Is it going to look terrible or can it really be a project worth getting into??

  • Replace bird bath with? 1

Decks & Patios: Deck needs something pretty to replace bird bath

I want to replace the bird bath in the middle of the deck because it is between a waterfall and a koi pond so I don't really use it, nor do the birds. I would like a colorful plant that can take full sun - there is no shade in that area. The planting area is 3' in diameter.

sure how I feel about adding subway tile or another tile to the wall if it is going to come down and meet the existing black backsplash. So, do I keep the wall bare like it is, tile the way it is and meet the black backsplash with another tile, or can I take out the counter backsplash that is there? What do you think?

Home Maintenance & Repairs: Should I waterproof a deck that is lower to the ground?

Suppose your deck is a bit lower to the ground. There are still advantages of using a waterproof deck, for example, this home uses their under deck for storage and we love the way they designed it as well!

What's your design advice for someone who has a deck that's lower to the ground?

I couldn't agree more. Waterproofing a deck, even one as low to the ground as shown in the picture is beneficial for storing and for keeping the deck's longevity. Thanks for the input!
