Thanks to Doug I now know this: Douglas HuntNew Smyrna Beach, FL

Smelly, and a fairly common sight in Florida. Also known, colorfully, as deadman's fingers. For a good discussion, see:

  • All the rustic bling makes for a fun focal point in the backyard. The white planter box use to be a firetruck parts crate. A couple pallets offer a front step and side walkway. A rusty old vintage headboard became a gate. 9

Pottery Barn Inspired Reclaimed Wood Planter

For a complete step-by-step detailed tutorial on how I assembled this planter please visit: http://www.thekimsixfix.com/2012/09/pottery-... ...»

My version of the planter is made of cedar fencing and paint stir sticks. I then painted and distressed it to look like the pottery barn version. My total cost was $8. To buy the same sized planter from Pottery Barn would have been $179

  • Enjoy this interesting Canoe Pond. Oxymoron? 15
  • Here is another angle! I love the change from the lower level of grade to the top of the deck. Note how the bottom of the canoe is buried slightly into the landscape as if it was water. Enjoy 5

This is one of the coolest abstract pond ideas I've seen. One of our out of state clients sent me this photo. I just love it! ...»
