About Me:

I enjoy gardening of both flowers and vegetables, indoors and out. I am amazed at the variety and complexity of God's creation.

Favorite area of home improvement:

We, my wife and I, spend a lot of time in our yard and garden spot from spring through fall. We have a few painting projects left to complete. We enjoy doing these together as well. Not exactly looking forward to having to pressure wash the house later this spring and will need help cleaning out the gutters.

Gardening: I have a sloping back yard. How can I get grass to grow?

I have sowed the area repeatedly in fescue, but it is still very spotty and uneven. The entire area is good old Georgia red clay and gets a lot of shade in the summer. I have thought of ...»
sodding with Bermud, but I am afraid the area is too shady. Any ideas?

Thanks for the answers, but I'm still hoping for more ideas. We have decided to give up on ...»
grass in some areas, sow fescue in others and sod bermuda in the one area that does get enough light. I would like more ideas about native plants for a flower/shrub garden.
