An inexpensive spring porch makeover and DIY painted outdoor rug

I needed to get my porch ready for spring on the cheap so I used the things I already had plus a few inexpensive purchases. When I couldn't find an outdoor rug I liked, I painted my own.

Modern tree mural for a little girl's room

  • This bathtub is 30+ years old, and has seen many renters come and go before we bought our condo.  It was stained, but didn't have any cracks or chips, so I decided to paint rather than replace.
  • The bathtub with it's new shiny bright white paint.  I couldn't get the two drains off, so I just painted right over them. 1
  • The first coat of paint going on.  You can see how dingy and drab the color of the tub was compared to the bright white paint. 2

the paint seems very durable. Of course, it IS paint, so it won't last forever, but I think this is a very good solution if you want a somewhat easy fix for an ugly, outdated tub, and don't quite have the budget for a complete replacement. More details (including a video) at the link below.

    our master bath that I've considered removing but it would require a complete remodel. Wonder if I could just paint over it?

  • Dryer balls made from wool yarn.  They last a long time and save you money! 1

No More Dryer Sheets!

Why waste money on dryer sheets when you can easily and inexpensively make your own dryer balls?

    colors bleeding. Mine are black, grey, and white. Also, I use at least 5 per load otherwise I don't feel like it helps things dry faster. Here's a link if anyone is interested in making them out of wool roving. Let me know how it works for you. http://www.laughingabi.com/diy-2/felted-drye...
