Insulated garage door vs. regular garage door - in a one-car garage, is replacing the original door worth the cost?

    Teri, . If in good shape, not. The weather extremes are not that bad in NC for your bill to be affected by not having an insulated door. . It would be useful if you have a garage band making noise late at night.
  • Hi Teri, Unless your garage is heated (for winter) or air conditioned (for summer) there is little point to having an insulated garage door. In this case it would be better to make sure the insulation around the garage (walls and attic spaces) are well insulated to keep the heat/cold from the garage out of the rest of your home.
