This was a project that was just done for one of our Hometalkers!

She wanted to add some color and warmth to her great room. The mantel was oak but didn't match any of the other wood in her home. The strong pattern of the grain conflicted with the pattern in the brick. We changed it to a lovely rustic green. (Yes, I painted OVER wood!) The colors that were used blend with the other tones in this space. What you cannot see in the photos is how perfectly this compliments her gorgeous green and bronze window treatments.
Thank you to Peace Painting for doing a great job on the prep and base coats. This was not easy because of the high varnish sheen on the original oak. GREAT JOB. . . I always know it will be done to perfection.
