It's bulb planting time in many parts of the country.
Daffodils are pest-resistant but tulips provide a feast for squirrels in my area. One way to deter them is to plant the bulbs, cover the bed with pieces of chicken wire, then cover with mulch. Priceless are the looks on frustrated squirrel faces!

If only there were something to put frustrated looks on deer faces when it comes to tulips.

Rebel - I'm no bulb connoisseur, I just buy what's on sale at local nurseries and enjoy them each spring.
