It's in my nature to always have a project going to feel happy and productive. I was born an artist. From my first scribbles in kindergarten to designs that have won awards professionally, at home and in business, I quietly mark my way in the world, intent on making things more beautiful and comfortable everywhere I go.
I love helping others do the same, sharing the love and enjoying the fruits of our creativity. I have taught children and adults at my studios, at Art Centers and at the International Academy of Merchandising and Design.
I studied at the Institute of Design at IIT and married an architect. During our 18-year marriage we transformed several homes into proud landmarks. Not by spending a lot of money, but by brainstorming creative solutions that are practical and sensitive, that withstand the tests and tastes of time.
Under adverse circumstances, post 911, and inspired opportunity, I abruptly chose to trade my rat-race urban lifestyle for the mountains of SW Colorado.
A new poet husband, aka kaibab, was also part of the deal. We lived on 20 acres, care-taking another 120 acres of mountain & valley vistas surrounding us as a Certified Wildlife Habitat, quiet & inspiring. Nature is our constant guide, always in flux and transformation.
After 20 busy years, Covid politics again restructured our lives, as it did for so many worldwide.
We sought and found a new opportunity unexpectedly and grabbed it the first day it saw light.
1.5 acres on the Pacific Ocean, in another tiny quiet town in southermost Oregon. Amazing views. Unspoiled natural beauty. Lush dense vegetation. And yet another fixer-upper in far worse condition than any before, in dire need of TLC and DIY.
That current challenge is the greatest reason why Hometalk followers have not heard from me for a long time.
