Cleaning & Organization: Dishwasher is creating residue/white on my dishes and tableware, including my glasses

I tried cascade powder and tabs, as well as, finish tabs. everything comes out with a white haze. I'm following the instructions on the box. ...»

I use my dishwasher once a week and therefore the dishes are scraped and rinsed before putting in the unit. I end up putting a 1/2 cup vinegar in a bowl and running it again. It is my understanding this is not good for the rubber, etc on the seals, pump, etc. - I called both companies and the only explanations are 1. lack of phosphates; 2. old product. Finish asked me if I put the tablet in the main dispenser and closed the door (that was the instructions) So - what do I do now? I really don't want to wash them by hand although in a sense I'm almost doing that.

Look forward to y'all's replies.

Home Maintenance & Repairs: After having a lot of rain with blowing wind, I found water on my smooth top stove. According to the roofer the water

came in through the vent on the roof. I'm now thinking I should cap off the vent since I don't need it. Is this possible? If so, what do I need and will it cause a problem with the roof which is flat?

Thank you for that. I was just wondering about that myself since my home was built in 1965, ...»
has little to no insulation. What I was thinking of doing is taking out the entire venting system (cabinet to roof) and either blowing in insulation or closing it up by placing a piece of wood in the top of the cabinet to cover the hole.

Gardening: I'm in Central Florida.

My house was built in 1964. Is Concrete Block and has little or no insulation in the walls and single pane awning windows. In the winter the electric bill is huge. I cannot afford to ...»
replace the windows or do vinyl insulation on the outside. What can I do inside that would help? Thank you for your advice.

Appreciate you trying Dan. I think I'm going to do one step at a time and start with the ...»
possibility of a loose air duct connection. I'm sure I can find a friend that is willing to get up there and take look. Have a great week.
