Potting Table

My husband built me this potting table using a century old door (curb find). I got ideas from pinterest on building and decorating it. I just love it!!!

Baby Changing table made into a Potter's bench

with a little creativity, a nail gun, old fencing and paint I was able to create my potting bench using what I had on hand. You can read about the details at: http://shelstringblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/b...

Potting Bench

An old rickety potting bench was given new life by adding a fence to the back, a shelf, and supports for durability. Old tools were used as hooks to hang garden tools. A galvanized bin on the side and a recycled window finish off the look.

Building a potting bench out of pallets.

For a weekend project my husband and I built this potting bench out of pallets. Such a great way to recycle pallets and also so useful.

I had fun redoing my Potting Bench for Fall. The gray milk paint turned out better than I anticipated.

  • My custom gardening bench so much is the perfect size lengthwise and not too tall for me.
  • He added this grate that I set my pots on when adding dirt.
  • Underneath the grate sits this lidded container.
  • When I am potting the plants, I just remove the lid from the plastic container, place the grate back on it and, the loose potting soil is captured and none is wasted.
  • I just love the two shelves above for storage as well as the taller shelf below.
Mr. B, as you know, makes some pretty good quality shelves!
I have two lidded containers below, one for potting soil
and one for my homemade compost.
  • I forgot to take a photo but, there are hooks on the right side
that hold my smaller gardening tools.
Mr. B really did think of everything!
We stained it all with a sage green wood stain.
It looks like I may need to do some touch ups this year.

It is about 6 feet long, giving me plenty of room to set up plants for potting and transplanting.
