Why Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is Worth The Bucks

I was skeptical, but everyone was raving about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, so I bit the bullet and shelled out over 4 times what I'd spend for a quart of paint from a big box store. Find out how I became a believer and a repeat customer.

How to Paint with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint {a tutorial}

I've been reading a lot about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

in blog-land and on my recent visit to the Luckett's Spring sale I saw ...»

so much of it in action I decided "enough is enough, I have to try

this!" So, I ordered several colors online (unfortunately I don't have a

dealer in my town) and waited for them to arrive. Well, they are here

and I have created my first project! Ta-da! Here is my hutch painted in

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint color: Provence.

You can read the whole tutorial on my blog.

  • This is the dresser. I have had it more than 20 years. I have a matching taller one, but I want to use that for something else.

Painting: Can I use wall paint on old, finished wooden furniture?

I have an old laquered dresser and an old wooden twin bed that I want to repaint for my son's 3rd birthday.

I bought some teal and lime paint from the mis-tint rack at Lowe's, intending on using it on the walls. I also wanted to use it on the furniture so it all matches, but I want to make sure that it is going to stick. I have read about sanding and priming it first, but I would love to know if there is any way I can get around this step without buying any other special paint? ...»

I will try to post a pic later when I get home of the bed. I dont have one right now.

Have you considered using Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan? No sanding, stripping ...»
or priming. Lots of colors and cool finishes. One quart covers 150 sf. So easy and water clean up. Plus a bit of Soft Clear Wax - and gorgeous.

  • Before--she was pretty scratched up so I sanded the top down to the bare wood.
  • Sanded, primed, and gave her two coats of the neutral beige.
  • I highlighted the details with a pretty cream and then glazed around them.
  • Added the poem to the top and...
  • voila! Love her new look! :)

Die Fabric ON a chair

Hi, I have a similar chair that I want creamier. I need ideas on how to die it (myself). I'm thinking of tea/coffee dying, but that will probably give a splotchy finish, which may be okay as were are using it in a shabby chic type baby room. I've used fabric spray paint before, but it did leave a harder finish. Any ideas?
