I've been looking at faux "tin" tiles, painted stencils and beadboard-I LOVE them all but has anyone had any luck with any of these on Hometalk? What would you suggest for the ceiling treatment? As you can see from one the photos-the bathroom upstairs has leaked down into the drywall in this bathroom-we'd like something to cover this damage and any future leaks (of the unpredicatble toilet variety). The wall need something too-grainy orange peel needs to go -but since the ceiling is so short-will board & batten or beadboard shorten or expand height of the room visually? Panel the whole darn room?

hubby painted doors and trim white (was off-white), walls went to a happy yellow. Believe it or not-we spray painted our brass door fixtures with ORB and clear coat (so far-not a scratch). The melamine cabinets were handy- but awful-doors were chipped with worn plastic pulls to boot! Found more cute fabric to cover the doors and hubby added the trim pieces + colorful ceramic knobs and ta-da! Oh, nabbed an old cork board and covered it with the same fabric and painted trim red; used scrap fabric for a valance. I won't be dreading laundry day now! Next is more finishing: crown, more coats of white paint needed and definitely new switches. Getting more ideas for the sink. I think the cats even like their new shared space. Simple and inexpensive solutions for a fabulous fix for my dreary laundry room.
