Gardening: Paving Project: I was thinking a beautiful project would be tearing out the old concrete patio in my backyard and

putting in a paver patio with steps and a small wall around it on one end. Would this be a do-able DIY or would it be easier to hire a company to do it?

Renovating a pool deck without removing old cracked concrete deck

Yes! Pavers can be installed on top of an existing concrete deck, even if the deck is cracked. Pavers are installed over sand, therefore the new deck will absorb small shifts without ...»

Hi Jan P. Why don't you call our office for some advice? You can also visit our website and ...»
check out the installation guide. I believe you might be concern about the freezing conditions in CT. Our products passed the freeze-and-thaw test (no measureable weight loss or cracking from the freeze-thaw testing was noted), meaning that there is very little abortion of water. If the product absorbs water, the water will freeze inside the product, expand and make the product crack. You need a dense product, where the water absorption is minimal.

Penny floors

Saw this kitchen floor made by mosaic artist Amanda Edwards using pennies. Seems like a great idea. I was actually thinking of using this idea for a backsplash, but still a lot to consider.

256 pennies to cover 1 square foot, therefore to cover a 150 sq ft room you would need 38,400 pennies, or $384!
