  • This was my anchor piece ~ a vintage pot from the Thrift Store ~ perfect for the yellow and white flowers.
  • The color of these little speckled eggs perfectly matched a container I already had and the little yellow pipecleaner peep was added just for fun.
  • I placed some fresh yellow flowers in a Thrift Store milk glass vase and tucked in a cloth bunny.
  • This African Violet adds a splash of color to the table and the little bunny and peep are salt and pepper shakers.
  • When I was growing up this little bunny in her pinafore was a regular in my Easter basket ~ I love her little smile.

Inexpensive options for beautiful Countertops!

It doesn't always need to be expensive!

I wanted to give a few examples of inexpensive options for beautiful countertops. ...»

Here are three that we have done recently.

The first is a reclaimed top that was on its way to the dump. We refinished it and added it to an antique dresser base to make an island in our kitchen.

The second option is high gloss Laminate... by using a squared off edge instead of the rounded edge we were able to get an appearance more like granite. The example I am showing is also from our kitchen.

Option three is porcelain floor tile.

I recently redid my parents kitchen and used 12"x24" floor tiles for countertop. The surface must be prepped properly and be level. It turned out beautifully. Using large tiles minimizes grout lines. I used a grout very close to the tile colour. We only needed 16 tiles for the whole project.

  • The wicker chargers add a natural element and ground the lighter plates.
  • Blue mason jars are perfect anywhere in my opinion! A spring table is especially nice.
  • I sewed french tea towels together to make smaller runners that could be used width-wise. This works well for a place setting for 4.
  • Vintage ball jars look great with heirloom silver candlesticks!
  • Inherited linen napkins go seamlessly with petite baskets from Kroger!
