Laminate Flooring Wall.

A long term client of mine recently went through an extensive remodel. One of the walls in the dining area had been set up with dozens of small framed mirrors. This was his girlfriends ...»
idea (part her and part their designer) Well, after a separation and her moving out my client wanted something a bit more masculine. The same designer suggested installing laminate flooring on the wall...rather than go through the time and expense of doing some extensive drywall repairs.

The designer began the install and not being a pro carpenter or having much experience with flooring installs the wall project came out looking a but under par compared to the awesome stuff he has done in the rest of the home.

The designers install was not fully "clicked" together and he also face nailed the flooring. The results looked, crappy. finish nail holes ever 16" or so and unsightly gaps.

The original plan was to do two walls with this flooring but only one was completed, with the extra material I was able to complete a "proper" install.

Tight joints, clean cuts and NO NAILS.

A Wintery Wreath

I saw a version of this wreath on Pinterest awhile back and was so inspired to put my spin on it so armed with pine cones spray paint and my trusty glue gun oh yes, and my dollar tree ornaments I went to work.................

Washing Windows Like The Pros

I cannot take credit for this discovery; however I can tell you that it works! In my opinion this is the best way for washing windows. A cleaning company shared this tip with me four ...»
years ago, I was using glass cleaner, vinegar and newspapers. Nothing I did completely cleaned the window. This is the only thing I use now.

Items Needed for Washing Windows

(All items except the Dawn were purchased at Dollar Tree)

Dawn Dish Detergent

Small Bowl or Bucket

Scrubby Pads

Absorbent Cloths

Squeegee

Steps

1. Place a few drops of Dawn in your container with a couple inches of water.

2. Dip the scrubby pad into the water and squeeze out.

3. Scrub the glass. The Dawn along with the scrubby gets the dirt off and does not leave a residue.

4. Squeegee the window, starting at the top and working down, wiping off the "blade" each time with a cloth.

5. Wipe around the edges to absorb any leftover water and dirt.

Who would have known this is all it takes to get professional results? Give it a try and see if you like the Washing Windows like The pros. http://chaoticallycreative.com/2012/03/16/wa...

Sherrie, I too have not used vinegar. Didn't ever seem to need it.

  • All we had to do was look up.
  • After just a few hours of work, we had this. 2

Look where we found some extra storage space in our bathroom.

We love our 1928 craftsman house, but everyone knows old houses aren't known for their abundant amount of storage. We decided to fix that.
