Composting | A Gardener Without Compost Is No Gardener At All

My Pot People

Meet Clay and Terra. I made these two after seeing simular ones on line. I found the "pot heads" at a local nursery. I am still startled when I head to the garden as I forget they are there!

Mary, 5 or 6 each arm and each leg in vaties sizes of course (arm pots had to drill holes). ...»
The heads are pots as well but may use basic pots and paints faces. Nylon rope small emough to go through the holes and knotted on both sides of each hole. Takes a lot of patients!

on top of the world's largest ant hill!

We have bought Combat traps and Raid traps .. might slow them down, but no where near stops them. Anything out there that I can go by to keep them out of my kitchen?

Recycled old Turkey Feeder Planter

We had an old rusty turkey feeder no longer in use. I painted it and added a drip line on base and in the top, then plant cherry tomatoes and basil ! Its great and they are now producing fruit!

Gardening: Anyone know what this plant is?

I have a friend who just bought an older house in Northern/Central Indiana, and these are coming up all over the garden beds through the weed-protecting fabric. She's not sure if it is a weed or an intentional plant.

  • Stay or Go??? 1

Pest Control: So today was up in the attic and low and behold we were surprised to find out we have free-renters!! Stay or Go??

HELP?!?!? So should we mesh the airholes on the side of the house that they are coming in through, or let them be? Someone told us to let them be and welcome them since they will keep mosquitoes away, but REALLY how many mosquitoes can 3-4 little Bats keep away??? I really do not want them telling all their little Bat friends that we have a great B&B they can stay at!

My watermelon looking propane tank

Our propane tank is small since it only is used for our fireplace. The propane tank was rusted and unsightly. I painted it to look like a watermelon with a ladybug on top. It is in the shade all the time, so no danger of overheating due to paint.

Book page decoupaged dresser!

I purchased this vintage dresser for $5 at a garage sale last year. My 20 year old daughter was moving into her apartment and needed furniture. The lowness of this would make a perfect TV ...»
stand and the drawers would be great for storage, but the orange had to go. This was such an easy project because it was actually well painted. I just torn up an old book and decoupaged it right onto the orange drawer fronts. I lightly sanded the edges smooth and put two coats of poly sealer over it. She wanted the same knobs, so I just painted them black. Easy and it works great for her little place. Total cost was $8 and the chest is all wood and very solid!
