Stainless steel in residential kitchen design

We usually see certain materials trend for the countertops we make. We've seen an uptick in zinc and walnut recently. Some materials just always remain in high demand. Stainless steel is one of them. Here is a closeup-pic of hammered stainless steel with farm sink:

Edge-grain wood countertops

Edge-grain tops have been hot lately. Everybody seems to want that chopping block aspect in their kitchen. Thought I'd share one of my favorite edge-grain projects that we've done. Here is a teak edge-grain:

Table Bases

It was nice to see all the great feedback on that Claro Walnut table we did. However, I thought I'd share some of the work we do with custom bases to compliment those Live Edge slabs. Here is a blog post we just did to highlight some of our popular bases that go with the Live Edge tables: http://www.brookscustom.com/blog/2013/01/fro...

Claro Walnut

I posted pics of the slab a long time ago on the Claro Walnut we had in our showroom. Well, it's now a computer desk. The client brought in her own plexiglass base in, and didn't want to touch/alter the actual slab...would be interesting to see how it looks set up in her home:

Thanks, Becky! That room was our biggest challenge. Moving walls, structural supports, cutting ...»
concrete to add the island, and all bargain shopped (cabinets/sink/faucet are from a store vignette, who went out of business). Brooks, I'll check out the website. We basically need a 7' slab, ranging between 10" & 18" wide to work. Thanks!
