Painting: Paint Colour Suggestions Needed!

I want to choose an accent paint colour that will work with my roof shingles and vinyl siding. The roof is brown/beige/rust/red and the siding is a light grey with beige undertone. Then ...»
there's this horrible Hardiboard siding covering the foundation that's in a grey with blue undertones (shudder!) I'm going to paint the Hardiboard, my front door and add shutters to the windows.

I'm thinking of Behr Japanese Maple for the front door (rusty red) and white for the shutters. Do I match the siding colour on the Hardiboard? or paint it one of the accent colours? Suggestions please!

just to throw you a loop...have you thought about something like this: http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/photos/0,,15... ...»

adding a small piece at both roof points would be pretty special. and I like the rusty red colour for shutters and maybe a window box.

It isn't Carrera unless it is an "off cut" or a B or a C grade and I don't think it is. ...»
Carrera is more white with thiner lines of grey even with the cheaper cuts- carrera is still mostly white. This looks like something from India or Pakistan.

Repurposed Plastic

For a few years I have wanted to produce an assemblage piece that involved community effort ---with the caveat of bringing awareness to the public about the plastic junk we buy and ...»
discard. I got the substrate ready for assemblage (with the help of my art students) so it was ready for my local art association's open studios 3-day event in October. After that weekend, more studio visitors added on, as well as many community "villagers" at our association's holiday market during the month of December. Lastly, I took on the solo job of filling the crevices. Finding the right glues was key. It will hang around town to be viewed in various public spaces and private businesses. Not sure where Old Glory's final resting spot will be. I might donate it to our town hall or library.

Design & Décor: What would you do to this kitchen?

The kitchen is all original from the 60s. We slapped some paint on the cabinets and walls when we moved in. The main objectives to our remodel is to do most of it ourselves, acquire ...»
counter space, add a dishwasher, use environmentally friendly products as much as we can, and do it all on a shoestring budget. Open to your suggestions. Thanks!

I think your kitchen is charming, but what stands out for me is the wall colour. It is too ...»
deep for your kitchen (just my opinion), personally, in a kitchen, I like to use more subtle colours- the yellow is good but something lighter and more greyish. The island is a great idea, too.

It is in the details...

This table re do was given a bit of whimsy with the addition of a stencil around the apron of the table.
