A Drawer transformed into an over the Toilet Cabinet

So I had all these drawers lying around from an old waterbed frame compliments from my neighbor who had purchase a new bed and wanted to know if I would like to use the wood and drawers ...»
for any of my projects...and me the JUNK Queen never passes up on an opportunity for free wood LOL!

So I thought to myself, SELF... what can I make out of these drawers?

Then I got to thinking that I was needing a new cabinet to go over the toilet in the bathroom to hold the toilet paper and other bathroom accessories.

So from one of the drawers this is what I made...

You Can see the whole tutorial here...

Mason Jar Bathroom Storage

Easy way to add storage to your bathroom. When the mason jars are dirty, slip them out, wash them in the dishwasher then put them back. Love it for my kids' toothbrushes! Full tutorial ...»

ps: I accidentally posted this under my personal account so if you see the same project/same pics on Lolly Jane's account, that's where is was SUPPOSED to be, lol (:

  • Flanking the bed are two inexpensive closet maid cabinets dressed up with some beadboard wall paper and trim. The top is made from stair treads left over from the stairs that had to be built to access the room. 3
  • The room lacked any architectural interest, so I added some by attaching tongue and groove pine paneling that had been stained to look old and weathered. 1
  • The other side of the room has a small "kitchen" area. The cabinets were purchased from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and the refrigerator was free. The book case separates the stairway from the room. 3
  • The wall art was a pinterest inspired project using leftover wood from the back wall.

  • The space is 22 feet long by 11 feet wide. We tried to make the most of every inch by incorporating storage into every piece possible.
The IKEA bed has huge drawers beneath and actually pulls out to form a king size bed. 2

  • Prison-cell bathroom turned chic!
  • We already had the bicycle art but I spray painted the frame white to match.
  • The iron bikes are from Hobby Lobby. We chose oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and art for contrast. Plus it ties in with the dark wood floors.
  • Beadboard wallpaper is thick, easy to hang, paintable, and looks like the real thing! 1

Wallpaper is Back!

Our hall half-bath was seriously the most vanilla room on the planet until we decided to wallpaper. I found some beadboard wallpaper by Allen + Roth at Lowe's, then browsed books from a ...»
local decorator to find the perfect complement for above the chair rail. Now, the toilet paper holder isn't the only focal point of the space...which is a good thing. Quite honestly, though, although we LOVE the pattern of the paper, it was a pain to hang becasue it came unpasted. If I had to do it all over again, well...I'd probably choose the same thing because we do like it that much, but dealing with wallpaper paste was a bit of a hassle. The prepasted beadboard paper, however, was a breeze by comparison.
