  • Architectural salvage, finds from junk stores and antiques shops, plus off the shelf items from a few Big Box hardware stores come together to create a warm and functional kitchen. 13
  • A hymnal rack from the back of a pew hangs above the stove and creates a place to display favorite platters. 3
  • An antique Hoosier cabinet base makes a kitchen island. A rather large wire basket serves as additional storage.

  • A little styling makes open shelving beautiful and functional. No more wondering where something is--you can see it all. Not show:Even my pantry cupboard has glass doors--I can see at a glance what I need to pick up at the market. I will say I am super OCD and make sure all my labels face forward. I even buy the store brand from one grocery store of all my canned goods because the packaging looks vintage. 2

blank bathroom wall now looks through columns to beach

We were brought in to this Vero Beach residence to create an ocean view in a nice, but bare bathroom. The arches & columns are painted on a flat wall. The client wanted cochina stone surrounding the tub - so that was painted on, with small plants breaking through the faux cracks. Also there was a wall niche that we added trompe l'oeil pot & window in (the inset pic). We can do projects like this in our studio, on canvas panels, and ship to clients to be put up simply like wallpaper! It's our 29th anniversary so now I'm outta here!! JRH

A design stencilled onto an old window makes one very pretty wall feature. Isn't this nice!?!

  • Our backyard pond. 1

Our recycled pond

Almost everything we have in this pond is reclaimed broken concrete, and stone I got off craigslist for free. This is the fourth year for this pond and we really enjoy it. My little sea of tranquility.

  • This hid an ugly spot in the yard that was in my direct line of vision as I sit on my porch....the sound of the water adds a wonderfully relaxing melody as it attracts birds and other wildlife for my pleasure. 9

A bad spot in the yard

I had a bare naked place right in the front yard that overlooks my porch and it was driving me crazy trying to keep grass growing. Finally I just gave up and did this instead. I like it much better and used materials I had on hand except for the lining. I also went to a bigger pump than the one I had. I'll use the smaller one for a new project in the back yard.

  • Windows in Nursery 2

Design & Décor: We have 3 windows & are unsure how to decorate them for our nursery. One valance w/ sheers? Separated? Panels?

HELP!!! Please suggest some (visual) options for us. We'd like to showcase the windows, rather than cover them up. But with the different sizes, we are having a dilemma.

Thanks so much in advance!

I SUGGEST A CURTAIN THAT WOULD BE ATTACHED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MIDDLE WINDOW. PULL THE TWO ...»
SIDES BACK SO THAT THEY DRAPE OVER THE TOP OF THE SIDE WINDOWS AND HANG DOWN EACH SIDE. YOU CAN USE SOMETHING CUTE FOR TIES BACKS LIKE A SMALL STUFFED TOY WITH A RUBBER BAND ON THEM.
