DIY Coastal bathroom

We added wainscotting, painted the cabinets, and DIY'd a bunch of accessories (including the towel rack) to make a coastal bathroom for our kids.

Beadboard Wallpaper

For those of you who haven't discovered beadboard wallpaper, let me introduce you! I discovered it 3 years ago (Graham Brown UK version) and haven't stopped using it yet. From bathroom ...»
renos, to ends of kitchen cabinets, to inset door panels in furniture, there are tons of use for beadboard wallpaper. I loved it so much I started selling it in my online shop, off my blog, Southern Hospitality. Here's a link to a bathroom project using it: http://southernhospitalityblog.com/beadboar...

Rhoda I wish I had known about this when we remodeled our island! We cut the real stuff, which ...»
was a pain because we has awkward angles and sizes. I'll definitely be using this in the future!

Guest Room Challenge

Converting my husbands old home office into a guest room was a challenge. First, the space is tight, measuring roughly 10X12 with octagon shaped angles at one end of the room,( which ...»
actually reduces the rooms overall square footage) making furniture placement difficult. The space also had dark navy wood trim accents and oak wood panels on the wall. I color washed the walls with a 2 to 1 mixture of Behr Creamy Mushroom paint and water. I placed a wrought iron bed into the space where the headboard gives the feeling of openness and transparency. Other touches such as a small nightstand, garment hooks and and old trunk complete the space. It's tight but cozy! For a closer look visit http://topthistopthat.blogspot.com/2012/01/h...

Before & After of my Dining Room

It was a dark cave of a room when I bought the cottage. It really needed to be updated, and brought back to life. I bought the table you see in the before pic of the former owner. And ...»
painted it. Once again, all my furniture in here is 2'nd hand :)

once again, you can see all the photos at http://vinnord.blogspot.no/2011/08/before-af...

This room is absolutely gorgeous! I want to pick it up and place the entire thing in my house! ...»
One question, is that a rug over carpet? Do you use some sort of anchor so the edges don't get caught up while you're walking?

  • New laundry room/home in Sandy Springs, GA. Design by Becky Sue Becker, CMKBD, CAPS

Laundry Rooms are morphing into extra storage spaces.

This cheerful space has open shelves for laundry baskets, a rod to hang delicates and even a station to do meal planning or other small computer tasks. Maybe to look up how to remove a coffee or grass stain? :)

From Builder Basic to a Custom Kitchen with just a few simple changes

All we did was: replace the microwave with a range hood, add a backsplash, pull some cabinet doors down to refit the microwave and add a wine cooler, add some moulding to the cabinets, ...»
distress/glaze the cabinets, and change the hardware. Oh and re-paint the walls in a lighter color- let's never forget the power of paint! It's amazing how much of a difference a few changes can make. You can read all about the transformation here - http://www.ourfifthhouse.com/2012/02/labor-o...
