ANTS? Easy, Safe Solution!

An exterminator told my friend that when you begin to see ants, they are the scouts. Stop these and you won't have ants. My son discovered that if you spray them with Windex (or any other glass cleaner), they are exterminated. Keep after it for a while and you won't have ants. We have used this for years. 2 days ago our humming bird feeder leaked onto the concrete front porch...the liquid got down in the crack between brick and concrete so there was not way to flush it out. Ants ...»
appeared quickly, I sprayed them with Windex. Watched through the day and kept spraying them. Now ant free! Safe for kids, pets and environment! It is worth a try before you spend hundreds.

be, I don't want my cats to get into the areas that I spray nor do I want to harm my hummers and other birds.

Repurposing & Upcycling: I have an art deco bedroom vanity I want to repurpose.

I had painted it a light green color (it was called celery) but now I want to go with a blue toile theme. It's my absolute favorite. I want to paint the overall vanity a cream color then do the accents in a periwinkle blue. I also want to add an accent of fabric on the drawers. Any input would be appreciated

The blue would look nice but I don't think fabric accents on drawers would look right. Glass ...»
knobs would look good though along with a beveled mirror. I would as Leslie said to bring the raised details into focus and if going in the bathroom, though i don't think it should, a sink to fit on top. But it really looks too small for a bathroom unless it is used as a vanity.

  • A simple solution that makes life easier! Plus it makes my toaster look cute, if that is even possible!
  • I measured my toaster and cut bottom piece about 1/2 inch bigger on all sides. Then I cut 1x2's for side pieces.
  • After sanding, I glued and nailed the whole thing together.
  • I stained it a dark walnut and used an old dog toy strap for handles. They were nailed on using upholstery tacks.
  • All done! And super classy!
  • And here is my new toaster tray sporting my toaster in the cupboard, and guess what, catching all the crumbs!!!! 1

  • First measure your wall to figure out what length the book shelves should be. Center your measurement on the wall.
  • This project costs about $20.00. And only a couple hours of your time.
  • Remember to sand all the rough spots from the wood putty for a nice smooth finished look!
